SEPTEMBER
2009
Dear Friend,

Colleen, Stephanie and Nicole sing for a
93 year old (Thai) new believer who went to be with His Lord
the following evening. |

FOUNDATION
As you have no doubt heard by now, - Eaglesrest is now officially
recognised as a Charity Foundation in Thailand. Praise God for
this important step. Now we look forward to what God opens next
on our journey forward.
We thought we would share with
you the four objectives of Eaglesrest Foundation as approved
by the Thai government. (This is a rough translation from the
Thai script)
|
- To offer short rest, accommodation,
and help/relief to Christian workers and their families who live
in Thailand and other South East Asian countries, who are suffering
and in need.
- To promote in the areas of
education, religion, culture and employment, enhancing existing
skills of those who come.
- To do good in the community
and join hands with other agencies who provide community services.
- We will have no political
agenda or interfere in politics in anyway or manner.

|
Now that we are official, we
desire to expand the work already happening here in Phang Nga.
Please consider how you may be able to assist as an individual,
family or group.
For Example: There is information
available for sponsoring an Asian pastor or family to come for
restoration. This is one of many ways you can make a difference.
We have families waiting now for assistance.

The children enjoy playing basketball at
the playground before we had a BBQ together. We hope to be able
to concrete the area soon.

ANOTHER
PRAYER ANSWERED
Our first board meeting as a registered foundation was held on
Thursday 27th August. We met in the home of our newly appointed
accountants, a young Thai couple who attend our Phuket church
and have their own accounting business. Both speak perfect English
and were able to put our minds at ease over quite a few questions
regarding Thai law requirements. As we have been praying for
an accountant for some time, this is a wonderful answer. Indeed
even more than we could have hoped for.
NEED FOR
WEB DESIGNER
Do you know someone who would be able and willing to devote time
to upgrading our web site? We are looking for a volunteer who
loves the Lord and has the skills and is willing to tithe their
time to be a part of the ministry of Eaglesrest in this way.
GOODBYE
TO GORDON
We have said goodbye to Gordon after three months of him sharing
the work with Rommel. Gordon has been a valuable asset and shows
a fine spirit of servanthood. He has moved on to join the MV
Doulos for the next twelve months. As the Doulos will be visiting
Phuket later this year we are already planning to catch up with
him again at that time.
|

Grace and Kingsley Dickins will arrive this
month. Please pray for them during their time in Thailand. |
|
RELIEF TEACHER PLUS!
On September 10th Grace and Kingsley Dickins from Queensland
Australia will be joining us. They plan to stay for at least
three months during which time Grace will take over the home
school supervision for Colleen, Stephanie, Jefferson and Nicole.
This will allow time for Janene to completely recover from her
illness and attend to the many matters required for Eaglesrest.
Kingsley will be assisting Rommel in the ongoing work projects
around Eaglesrest and the church buildings. More details next
month! |
